Then I went and drew pictures for a hypothetical FFVII AU, and people started begging for me to write it.
I've decided that it shall be written, so YAY!
I'm posting the pictures so far here:
Cover WIP:
The pic that started it all:
About the plot/cover:
The chapter/cover art for "Fain Would I Follow," the AU FFVII story I'll be writing. I'll probably color this... though, I don't know if I'll do it like "I Want the Truth," because that was grueling to complete. I'll probably go for a lighter feel with this.
Oh, "fain" is a more archaic term that means "eagerly, willing/content, being obliged" In other words, the way Zack seems to feel when it comes to Cloud. Protecting/standing by him is something that goes without saying, not just something he *wants* to do. That's simply the way things shall be. Like, he would never have it any other way or even think of doing anything else. By the time they're on the run, he's practically BOUND to Cloud. Their lives are so closely entwined that... well, you know how it was in FFVII. XD
So, fain would he follow Cloud, no matter WHERE the road leads.
Cloud is JUST SLEEPING, guys. Don't worry. Zack is being all contemplative and protective over Cloud, who fell asleep against him. They're sitting in the flowers in the Sector 5 church (Aerith's church).
Copied the plot summary from I'll be here, by your side:
...to the end of the world, back again, and beyond.
I had an idea for a FFVII AU. Game events remain the same. Somewhere during the two years afterward, when Advent Children would be about to take place. But, instead of action movie content, a story:
No Remnants, no Sephiroth fight.
With the knowledge that Geostigma had something to do with mako/the lifestream/Jenova, Cloud is searching for information for a cure. He comes across an old lab that had been abandoned during the game's events. He discovers a cryo-life support system keeping a person in suspended animation.
Guess who?
Zack. After Cloud left for Midgar, Zack's body was recovered and resuscitated. Hojo planned to continue the experiments, but due to various events the lab was hastily abandoned and shut down, Zack forgotten. Now cloud happens across this abandoned facility and is reunited with Zack, whom was thought to be long dead. The next month goes by and Cloud develops Geostigma. He leaves, but Zack, being Zack, quickly tracks him down. Cloud is adamant in his refusal to go back to the bar, and nobody can MAKE Cloud Strife go anywhere against his will very easily. Zack stays with Cloud and picks up Cloud's search for a cure. Cloud's Geostigma reaches a very advanced state, and Zack has had no luck. Cloud takes a turn for the worse and Zack alerts Tifa. Zack refuses to move from Cloud's side.
I haven't decided if it would have a downer ending or have everyone get saved.:/
I love emotional pieces, and I might end up writing this as a fic. Will NOT be as hastily written as Running out of Time, which follows a similar theme of focusing on terminal illness... I sense a pattern! XD
The latest endeavor (not counting the cover sketch):
As for this scene: Zack tracked down Cloud after he left. His Geostigma has reached a more advanced state, and Zack is forcing Cloud to show him how bad it really is.
Because the story of Advent Children doesn't span a very long time, I haven't got any idea how quickly the stigma spreads. Therefore, I've decided that it spreads a lot like Ashitaka's curse-mark in Princess Mononoke.
I saw a scene from Advent Children Complete, where Marlene is asking Cloud if he left because he couldn't fix Denzel, and the pain in his expression is something I'm trying to create here, too. *sigh*
And Zack, Cloud, and FFVII are all (c) to Square-Enix, of course.
All art was created using The Gimp. n_~
Ah, if only my writing always turned out as well as my pictures sometimes do. XD
Also, real life is kinda taking up my creative time, so no story at the moment. And all my other self-indulgent projects have ground to a halt. :/ fanfics hafta wait, because school is priority. This art just kinda happened on its own. XD
I'll be using this icon for later posts having to do with this AU:
Unless I make a better one! XD

I was wondering what the appeal of tentacles was, so I decided to dabble in the art side.
I noticed that one of my favorite fandoms (FMA) lends itself well to the whole tentacle thing, since splicing together chimeras with alchemy (sometimes using humans) is a favorite pastime of the bad guys.

( HA! Who's short NOW, Sparky!? )
( The most BADASS Tentacle AU, EVER. )
( I has lots! And am now part of the project development team for a new game! )

Title: Love to Hate You
Game: Tales of the Abyss
Author:
Characters: Guy and Asch mainly. The others shall make appearances.
Pairing(s): past Guy/Luke; possible Guy/Asch implied for the future?
Spoilers: Asch and Guy. If you don't know what I mean by that, STOP READING NOW.
Genre: dark, Guycentric... some slash...
Summary:
(yet another God-General GGG)- THIS IS A COMPLETE SUMMARY, so it includes key plot points that may spoil my story for you. If you don't mind that, please, keep reading! n_~
We all know why Guy infiltrated House Fabre. Guy was undoubtedly a horror to Luke fon Fabre (Asch) as a child... and now that he's aligned himself with Van, what's there to stop him from continuing to pour all his malice and hatred into Asch when Van's back is turned? Asch is too stubborn and prideful to let anyone know what goes on behind closed doors in those unfortunate encounters with God-General Gailardia. Guy had remained at Luke's side only to fall in love with the idiot, but never did he forget his allegiance. Some time after Akzeriuth and the Curse Slot incident, Guy leaves for Van. He doesn't realize how hard and twisted, how utterly warped he's become until he encounters Luke by chance in Chesedonia, whereupon the redhead is alarmed by this sick, twisted shell that remained of his beloved childhood companion. Luke rejects Guy's advances, and Guy is stunned. After a decent bout of self-loathing and soul-searching, he realizes that he's nearly sunk to becoming the monster he knows Van to be within. The man is over the edge, Guy knows, but he'd never realized how close to that edge he'd slipped. Guilty and repentant, he returns to Asch and tries to begin to mend the terrible scars he's left on the Fabre boy, the wounds in Asch's psyche that are mirrored by the marks on his body. Guy doesn't expect forgiveness, but he still treats Asch with acceptance and a near-reverence...
Eh. Something like that. It'll be fairly long, I think, by the time I'm done.
The story will be kinda... snapshot-ish. Starts out with them as kids, bits and pieces of stuff from the game... you know what I mean, snapshots.
I'm a sucker for Asch with his bangs down. >..<
...Damn. Guy looks a lot scarier in this version than in the cover's concept sketch.

Ahem. First Abyss fic ever. I'll post something more pr0ny later. Originally intended as platonic, but even I'M reading Jade/Luke into this after I finished writing it. Heh. I'm thinking about taking Jade's statement of "If you still can’t sleep, I can give you something to help" in an entirely different manner. So, perhaps a follow-up smutfic? Alternate ending to the way Solace ends, of course.
I've been thinking about this for a while... During the entire game after the Tower of Rem, Luke gets DENIAL from Tear and we never see any REAL conversations with Jade about you-know-what. Tear kinda PHAILS at the acceptance/comfort thing. Poor Luke. I see Jade as someone he could turn to, someone who could help him cope with the utterly horrid hand that Fate has dealt him, but we all know how tough it is to get JADE to open up. But then I realized that the perfect opportunity presents itself handily, and this fic is the result. Mind you, this is the first Abyss fic I've written, EVER.
Title: Solace
Rating: Uh, PG?
Warnings: Spoilers up to & including the night before Eldrant. After Luke's conversation with Tear, and after Jade goes out drinking. X3
Notes: Despite my love of slash, this is wholly innocent in nature for once. But I guess I don't mind if you wanna read Jade/Luke into it :D
Summary: Luke is falling apart, in more ways than one. He just hides it well. But we all know how damnably perceptive certain party members can be, ne?
Genre: comfort/gen

Dragon of the Jin-Keiga, an order of warriors similar to the Shang in the Tamora Pierce books. Inbar is the highest of the order, and therefore the most dangerous man in existence. Deadly fighter with any weapon, but he is most dangerous fighting unarmed.
I think I've fallen in love with his eyes. His hair is red-brown, and his eyes are sky blue with gold around the pupils and aqua towards the outer edge of his irises.

This is the information you will NEED TO KNOW if you want to understand the Kindgdom Hearts saga that is beginning. This is the backstory of Armando, Bastion, and Kotir, along with Sora's involvement. This may or may not be the same fic as Kingdom of Shadows. You'd better read all of this, or I will personally tell you the entire thing, ad nauseum.
First things first.
We all know that Sora is one of several key bearers that have appeared over the course of the ages. In my fic-verse, Sora is the THIRD key bearer to come along. We ALSO all know the legend about how the keyblade either brings great light and unity to the worlds, or it plunges them into darkness. It has brought both great hope and terrible destruction. Armando and crew date back from the very FIRST key bearer’s time.
The fist key bearer was very much like Sora. But, unlike Sora, he didn’t get split up from his friends. They journeyed with him. In every case, it has always consisted of a trio- two boys, and one girl. A perfect triad. So, when the moment came to seal the Darkness behind the Door to Darkness, there was no Riku and Mickey on the other side. Armando, Bastion, and Kotir would have to be locked in with the Darkness. And in that crucial moment, Armando failed. He hesitated, and that hesitation cost him and his friends their lives. The darkness swallowed them. They managed to close the doors from the outside, even as they were, but not before the Darkness escaped. Thus the creation of my characters, the Nobody Triad. As the three of them had strong hearts, their Heartless were weak, but their Nobodies were powerful.
Their Heartless vanished with the swarm, but the Nobodies remained, upsetting a critical balance, though they never actively did anything. Truly, the keyblade had wrought destruction. Eventually, the Darkness subsided to a manageable level. Armando, Bastion, and Kotir’s world, Light’s Citadel, was swallowed by the Heartless and became what WE know as End of the World. Things continued to escalate for centuries, until the SECOND key bearer and her two friends appeared. She, plus two other keyblade-wielding boys, fought the Heartless and won. They were successful in sealing the Darkness behind the Doors.
They also confronted the Triad, bound them behind the Masks, and sealed them into the Heart of Darkness, which is the place that Xehanort’s Heartless referred to as Kingdom Hearts. The false Kingdom Hearts, if you will, rather than the Darkness in which the Heartless dwell. Now, centuries later, Sora came along. When he fought "Ansem," he opened the Door to the Heart of Darkness, and he released the Triad.
THAT is how they came to be in this story. There are two factions, or divisions of Nobodies: Organization XIII, and the Triad. The Triad opposes the Organization, wanting not hearts, but solace. They eventually join Sora’s side in the war, and Sora eventually unlocks the Masks from their faces.
And that’s the story.
